The Grumpy Voter is NOT progressive

Here's a message I left at "the Grumpy Voter", Canada's most right-wing progressive :)

Perhaps you take plesure in calling fellow Progressive Bloggers "idiots" , but let's remind everyone who the real idiot is here.

national unity trumps everything else

I agree! Does the word coalition mean anything to you? Conservatives are the most divicive people still in the house.

This majority-backed coalition is willing to cooperate with ALL oposition parties, but none of them will help the Bloc in their effort to separate. What's so hard to get about this?

The only explanation why it is so hard to get is, because you are a Rightwing Conservative backer in disguise.

Where did you get that Progressive Blogger Banner anyways? I'm sure Scott regrets having given you one because you are obviously as progressive as Stephen Harper himself. There's noting progressive about keeping a minority government in power when a majority-backed coalition is about to take over control.

Suck it up, Mr. Conservative, Harper is on his way out. Good riddance!

I do want to take this opportunity to thank Stephen Harper for one thing , because he's been able to do what many others couldn't.

Thank you for uniting the so-called left in Canada; well done!

I made a similar note last week in my blog:

http://skinnydips.blogspot.com/2008/11/grumpy-voter-both-progressive-blogger.html

I don't care if a progressive thinking blogger votes for the Conservative Party. I do think he or she should be open to new ideas that will improve the lives of all Canadians that will improve the equality of Canadians. I do think that a progressive blogger that starts calling other progessive bloggers names does not deserve to be included as a Progressive Blogger. Grumpy Voter needs to be removed from the PB list.

I wrote a letter today expressing the same sentiment as Skinny.

We finally agree on something :)

Take it from me--ProgBlog considers everybody a progressive these days. Once you're on the blogroll, you're on it for life.

There is no doubt in my mind that a coalition government is a fresh look at real democracy, one that isn't afraid to reconcile differences. To demonize so many people in Canada (those who have supported the Bloc) is to do more damage to national unity than has been done for decades. Perhaps this is something intended as the western separatist is revitalized.

I don't claim to be a political blogger but my site has become political over the past few days. I am angry and willing to do what I can to protect my country.

I'm not sure who this Grumpy Voter is, but if he's grumpy from voting itself AND progressive, that he should logically be in support of this coalition, not against it. No need for another vote.

If I were a conservative (and some of my in-law family are) then my only reasoning against the coalition would be something like this: Conservatives tend to have good control on spending, and that's what this country needs right now.

I don't agree with the statement (I'm with Keynes that a government should save in the good years, and spend in the bad years, hence the support of the stimulus package), but at least it is consistent with conservative thought.

Unfortunately for the Cons most Canadians expect help from their government during these economically troubling time, help Cons are not willing to us. I suppose it's hard to spend money you haven't saved...(think corporate tax reductions, privatizations, other tax reductions, etc.)

All other talking point I've seen sofar have absolutely no valid justification to them, whatsoever - smoke, mirrors

Do the Cons (such as Grumpy Voter) really think they can "spin" themselves out of this situation?
